Scholarship Information

CALLERLAB and the CALLERLAB Foundation administer scholarship funds to support education of callers, dancers, and organizations:

  • Merlin Seidel Memorial Scholarship Fund
  • Grand Square Incorporated (GSI) Education Fund
  • Music Producers Committee Scholarship Fund
  • Michael Jacobs Memorial Scholarship Fund
  • Tim Marriner Memorial Scholarship Fund
  • GENERAL Scholarship Fund
  • Jerry Story Memorial Scholarship

Scholarships for Callers:

Scholarships are available to provide financial assistance to callers seeking to further their education through attendance at a recognized caller training school and who would not otherwise be able to attend.  The school to be attended must include at least one CALLERLAB Accredited Caller-Coach on the staff and the school must offer the full 40 hours CALLERLAB Caller School Curriculum, or be a school focused on specific topics within the Curriculum and at least 20 hours of presentations. Page 3 of the application includes the instructions for callers applying for scholarships. Selection is based on financial need, current calling experience and the application materials.

Applications for these scholarships must be submitted to CALLERLAB/CALLERLAB Foundation office prior to the start of the school the applicant plans to attend.  Applications received after the school begins, will not be considered.  Applications will be reviewed by the Foundation Executive Directors as received.

Scholarships for Organizations:

Scholarships are also available for organizations hosting education events. Page 4 of the application includes the instructions for organizations applying for scholarships. Selection is based on financial need, the purpose of the event, and the application materials.

Applications must be postmarked before the event begins. Applications received after the event will not be considered. Applications will be reviewed by the Foundation Executive Directors as received.


The material and application form provides additional information about the scholarship funds administered by CALLERLAB and the Foundation. There is a maximum lifetime award of three scholarships.  Completed applications are to be returned to:

Those receiving a scholarship are required to submit a written brief, submitted within three months of attending the school, to summarize how the school impacted their growth as a caller.
